105 Streetsville Army Cadet Corps won Top Large Cadet Corps 2024
The Army Cadet League is pleased to announce that 105 Streetville Support Committee was
selected as the top Large Support Committee.
Our committee consists of seven dedicated volunteers who are willing to do anything to make the corps run smoothly. Over the past year our corps has grown by over 80 cadets which is in strong part from the Support Committee being so inviting and welcoming to new parents and cadets as they came in for our Orientation night.
With the influx of new recruits, we have stepped up our fundraising efforts with the Support Committee taking the lead in setting up grocery bagging dates at our local stores and organizing and participating in shifts at our local OLG Gaming Centre. Without these funds, we would be unable to provide many of the exciting opportunities to our cadets.
Support committee members can be seen on Training nights helping out with planning and completing required paperwork. Always being quick to respond to requests from our officers and staff and happy to be a part of CO’s parades presenting awards and other recognition. They understand that we are a team and that each of us has a focus that working together will achieve great things for 105 RCACC.
In Committee meetings, we work together to look into the future and how we can better support our cadets and offer an enhanced cadet experience. Each Support Committee member brings a unique perspective that allows us to adapt and change as we grow.
Our Support Committee is always willing to step up and help out, whether it be serving food at our Mess Dinner, promoting Ontario Week activities, driving missing equipment to events and pretty much anything else you can think of. As a first time Commanding Officer, I would not be able to do my job without this amazing group of dedicated individuals and that is why they deserve the honour of being named the Support Committee of the Year
